The day has finally arrived! My website, “Martha Wegner’s Words” is finished! As in, that project which has consumed me, frustrated me, surprised me, and delighted me for the past few months of my life is complete! And today it is launched. Finally, a place to put all my words, both written and spoken.
Many of you know me through my books, and those books have given me a second vocation, speaking on topics that are close to me. So this new website was created to share my speaking opportunities along with my work as an author.
“OK, now you get to make a big announcement!”, so says my advisor, Susan Murphy, (humanemarketer@gmail.com). Susan is the one who created this website, taught me how to post a blog, and perhaps most importantly, encourages me to make a big deal of myself in a public setting.
These things are not easy for me. Being of the generation that has to read manuals and watch YouTube videos to figure what comes naturally to my children’s generation, it is indeed a challenge. But, I am happy to say that with the help of Susan (and lots of swearing and gnashing of teeth) the site is up and running.
Then there is the second hurdle. Despite the fact that I am pretty well known for my wildly enthusiastic nature (just ask my kids), and I am known for speaking the truth (just ask anyone who knows me), trying to figure out how to declare this fervor in such a public place as the internet just makes me nervous. I guess it’s just one more topic to bring to my therapist.
So, I’ve put aside my fear of bytes and any hint of shyness to make an announcement: I have a website! A new website. A beautiful, creative, informative website. It highlights my blog! Showcases my books! Highlights my speaking gigs! It truly is a sight (shall we say a site?) to behold.
