“Every year, we as a church celebrate the four weeks leading up to Christmas; we call it Advent. We light candles, we think nice thoughts, maybe say a prayer or two. But I’ve never felt as if I were living it, that is, really preparing my mind and my heart and my spirit tor the Coming of Christ. So, … I am going to live and act according to the 28 days of Advent.”
Those words were from my “28 Days of Advent” project in 2016. Each day of Advent I did an “act” according to that week’s theme (Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love). Then I posted it. It was a challenging, at times tedious, but always rewarding endeavor.
So, this year I am going to repeat it. (By the way, I skipped it in 2017 because I was happily planning my dad’s 90th birthday party!).
I cannot tell a lie…I am glad it is down to 23 days this year!
Please feel free to join me in living your own 23 Days of Advent. I’d love to hear about your experience.
