To me, there is nothing more JOYful than a pair of warm socks. Actually, it might just be more accurate to say there is nothing more miserable than having cold feet.
So, today, I did a tried-and-true act of spreading JOY. I gave a homeless man a new pair of wool socks. He smiled and said, “Oh mom, I can sure use those!” At least I think that’s what he said. I don’t know if he said that by accident, or because I seem to look like I could be anyone’s mom. More likely, it was because he associated warm feet with the comfort of home, and a mother.
Today, it was easy and so gratifying to give this man JOY with a pair of socks. It brought me much JOY too.
