Today I did not do an act of joy; I witnessed an act of JOY. And peace, and love, and hope. A simple act which exemplified the Advent promise more than any of my recent attempts.
I volunteer at an assisted living community near my home. I was on the memory unit today, participating in a prayer service.
After the service, Pastor Daniel walked around the circle and kissed each resident on the forehead. He had never done this before in our prayer circle. He said it was an Advent blessing. And although I kept my head bowed during the service, I can only imagine the overwhelming JOY, and peace, and love, and hope these residents felt.
It was a gracious, vulnerable act, and I was overwhelmed with JOY to witness it.
